(A) Penalties for violating town speed limits.
(1) A person who operates a vehicle in excess of the maximum speed limit established by this chapter or any other town ordinance, when signs are posted, shall be liable to a fine in accordance with the following schedule:

(2) For the purposes of administering this section, the enforcement officer shall note on the citation the amount by which the limit was exceeded. Fines may not be paid directly to the Clerk- Treasurer, but may be paid in accordance with § 35.29. ('85 Code, § 8-2-3) (Ord. 1984-3, passed 6-12-84; Am. Ord. 1985-C26, passed 9-16-85; Am. (B) Penalties for parking violations. A person who violates any town parking restriction, as provided hereunder (when signs are posted, if required) shall be liable to a fine of $10 and each separate day that a violation continues shall be a separate offense. If the driver of the offending vehicle is not present, the citation may be served by firmly attaching the same in a conspicuous place on the vehicle. Applicable fines may be paid directly to the Town Clerk-Treasurer, in accordance with § 35.29. ('85 Code, § 8-5-5) (Ord. 1985-C27, passed 9-16-85; Am. Ord. 01-1990, passed 6-12-90)
(C) A person who violates, or is liable for a violation of, §§ 70.60 or 70.61 this chapter shall be subject to a fine of $5 for each violation. The fine may be paid to the Clerk-Treasurer, in accordance with § 35.29. ('85 Code, § 8-6-2) (Ord. 1981-6, passed 10-14-81; Am. Ord. 1985-C26, passed 9-16-85)
(D) Any person who lawfully drives or parks any truck or bus on any town street or alley, other than when expressly permitted by the Code of Sheridan, and when signs are erected as required under § 70.76 of the Code of Sheridan, shall be liable for a fine of $50 if the truck or bus has a rate of capacity of one and one-half tons to 18,000 pounds gross vehicle weight. If the truck or bus has a rated capacity of 18,000 pounds gross vehicle weight or more, the person who lawfully drives or parks such truck or bus shall be liable to a fine of $500, if paid to the Sheridan Clerk-Treasurer within ten days of receiving the citation. If not paid to the Sheridan Clerk-Treasurer within ten days of the citation, the fine shall be no less than $250, and no more than $2,500 in the discretion of the court where such citation is filed. (E) Any person who violates § 70.17 shall be liable to a fine of not less than $50 nor more than $100 and shall be liable to the town or the operator of the private entrance or exit for all costs incident to the replacement, repair or other restoration of the affected traffic control device. (F) Any act constituting a violation of § 70.85 or failure to comply with any of its requirements shall constitute a penal town ordinance violation and an offender may be cited for the violation and upon conviction shall be liable to a fine of $50. Each day that any of the provisions of § 70.85 is violated shall constitute a separate offense and the offender will be charged an additional $25 per day. All fees shall be payable to the Clerk-Treasurer of the town.
