There is hereby adopted a standard set of building rules and regulations contained in a certain book publication known as “National Building Code,” 1976 Edition, recommended by the American Insurance Association. The National Building Code is hereby adopted as the “Dwelling House Code” of the Municipality for regulating the construction, alteration, addition, repair, removal, demolition, use, location, occupancy and maintenance within the Municipality, of residential one, two and three-family buildings and structures and their service equipment, and, except as hereinafter provided, each and all of these regulations, provisions, conditions and terms of such Code are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this Building Code.
One copy of the National Building Code adopted in Section 1311.01 is on file at the office of the Clerk of Council for use and examination by the public. In addition, the Clerk of Council has copies of the National Building Code available for distribution to the public at cost. One copy is also on file in the County Law Library.
The adoption of the National Building Code shall not repeal, abrogate, annul or in any way impair or interfere with existing provisions of other laws or ordinances. Where such Code imposes a restriction in conflict with a statute of the State upon the same subject, the provisions of the statutes shall control.
