5-2-6: PROHIBITED ACTS, CONDITIONS:
   A.   Private Use: It shall be unlawful for a person to use a street, sidewalk or other public place as space for the display or sale of goods or merchandise, or for peddling merchandise; or to write or mark any signs or advertisements on such place; except as may be specifically authorized by ordinance, such as section 3-6-3 of this code, or by the village board.    B.   Obstructions: It shall be unlawful for any person to cause, create or maintain any obstruction of any street, alley, sidewalk or other public way, except as may be specifically authorized by this code, or by the village board. (Ord. 2900, 11-13-2000)
   C.   Injury To New Pavement: It shall be unlawful to walk upon or drive any vehicle or animal upon, or injure any newly laid street or sidewalk pavement while the same is guarded by a warning sign or barricade, or knowingly to injure any soft or newly laid pavement.
   D.   Damaging Sidewalks: It shall be unlawful to damage any sidewalk, street or alley pavement. (1981 Code)
   E.   Deposits On Sidewalks And Other Public Ways: It shall be unlawful to deposit on a public sidewalk any material which may damage the same, or any waste material, except for "yard waste" which is further described in section 6-3-6 of this code, or glass or other articles which might cause injury to persons, animals or property 1 .
It shall also be unlawful for any person to deposit on a public sidewalk or other public way any shopping cart, or for any business to allow its shopping carts to be deposited on a public sidewalk or other public way. A separate offense shall be deemed committed for each and every distinct violation of this subsection. (Ord. 3165, 8-14-2006)
   F.   Poles And Wires: It shall be unlawful to erect or maintain any poles or wires on or over any public street, alley or other public way without having first secured permission from the village. (1981 Code)
