The police department is hereby authorized and directed to procure, erect and maintain appropriate standard traffic signs, signals and markings conforming to the rules of the state highway division giving such notice of the provisions of sections 9-1-1, 9-1-2, 9-1-3, 9-1-6 and 9-1-9 of this chapter or as hereinafter specifically passed or as required by state law. Signs shall also be erected in such locations and manner as authorized by the governing body as to give adequate warning to users of the street, alley or highway in question. (Ord. 340.001, 3-15-1982)
