A. Except as otherwise provided in this Code, a license fee is hereby levied on every person engaging in, exercising, or pursuing any of the businesses, professions, trades, occupations, or privileges covered by this Code for a fee as set by the City Council by ordinance.
B. Before issuing a license to a peddler or solicitor, the City Clerk may require of the applicant any reasonable information which he deems desirable to protect the public interest and the applicant shall comply with this chapter.
C. In order to receive a license under this article, every person, firm, or corporation regulated pursuant to this section is required to possess a valid and current State sales tax identification number or proof of exemption pursuant to 68 O.S., if such person, firm, or corporation is a vendor subject to collection of sales taxes under Section 98-1 and the Oklahoma Sales Tax Code (68 O.S. § 1350 et seq.). A copy of this permit shall be provided by the applicant for a license to the City Clerk prior to issuance of the City license.

A. It is unlawful for any person to engage in, exercise, or pursue any business, profession, trade, occupation, or privilege for which a license fee is levied by Section 18-26 or by any other ordinance or ordinance provision without paying the license fee and securing and possessing a valid license therefore. Upon making proper application to the City Clerk, the payment of the license fee and fulfillment of any other condition which may be prescribed by law or ordinance, the City Clerk shall issue a license therefore. Such license fees shall be credited to the general fund of the City.
B. Any license issued under this article shall expire no later than one (1) year after the date of its issuance or on June 30 of each year.
