9-3-8: INSPECTION; DEFECTIVE INSTALLATIONS REMOVED:
   A.   Inspection; Issuance Of Certificate:
      1.   Upon the completion of any work for which a permit has been issued under section 9-3-5 of this chapter, it shall be the duty of the permit holder to notify the electrical inspector who shall, as early as possible, inspect the wiring, installation, appliances and apparatus and execute a certificate of satisfactory inspection, which shall contain the date of such inspection and the result of his examination.
      2.   No such certificate shall be issued unless such wiring, motors, heating devices, appliances and apparatus are in strict accord with the rules, requirements and spirit of this chapter.
      3.   No current shall be turned on until such certificate is issued.
   B.   Inspection Fee: The amount of fee or charge to be made for such inspections and certificates shall be fixed and determined by the city council.
   C.   Removal Of Defective Installations: Whenever electric wiring, appliances or apparatus are found to be defective or hazardous through improper manufacture or improper or insufficient installation or for any other reason, the electrical inspector shall at once cause the removal of such defect, at the expense of the owner of such wiring, appliance or apparatus.
   D.   Proof Of Approval Required; Tag: It is unlawful for any person to conceal, or cause to be concealed, any electrical equipment used for electrical light, heat or power, until he knows that the installation has been approved by the electrical inspector. A tag in the switch cabinet or attached to the service equipment properly signed and dated, so stating, will be sufficient notice. (1990 Code § 5-308)
