(A) System description. The numbering system created by this section utilizes an east-west street to represent the dividing line between north and south designations, and a north-south street for the dividing line between east and west designations, which streets shall be referred to as “numbering base.” Even numbers shall be assigned to properties that are on the right side of the street as one proceeds away from the base, and odd numbers shall be assigned to properties that are on the left side of the street as one proceeds away from the base street.
(B) Excluded properties. The Arnolt Industrial Park and the Cubs Development District are excluded from the numbering system created herein. The Town Clerk-Treasurer shall determine the numbers for these properties.

(A) North-south base street. First Street (State Highway 13), as shown on the map attached to the ordinance codified in this subchapter, shall be the north-south base street. All buildings and properties east of this street shall have the word “east,” or an abbreviation thereof, prefixed to its name, and all buildings and properties west of this base street shall have the word “west” or the abbreviation thereof prefixed to its name.
(B) East-west base street. Catholic Street, as shown upon the attached map, shall be the east-west base street, and all buildings and properties north of this base street shall have the word “north” prefixed to its name, and all buildings and properties south of this base street shall have the word “south” prefixed to its name. The abbreviation “N” for north and the abbreviation “S” for south may be used in designating the address.

(A) For the purpose of this subchapter and for the numbering required by this subchapter, the first block or square of any street in any direction from either of the base streets identified in § 151.17 of this code shall be numbered 100, and the second block shall be numbered 200, and from thereon to the end of said street, each consecutive block shall be numbered 100 higher than the block nearer to such base street.
(B) For the purposes of determining blocks, streets that do not proceed entirely through the town, shall be extended by a hypothetical imaginary line in a north-south or east-west direction that said street is laid out, with said imaginary line constituting the separation of one block from another.

(A) Business District. Between the streets of Market Street and Catholic Street, on First Street within the town (which area is the Business District), each 20 feet shall constitute one number.
(B) Remaining properties. In each block within the town not otherwise provided for within this section, each 50 feet shall constitute one number.

For the purpose of this subchapter and for the numbering required by this subchapter, diagonal streets shall be considered north and south streets or east and west streets, as the case may be, according whether their course lies nearest north and south or east and west; those whose course lies nearest north and south shall be considered north and south streets, and those whose course lies nearest east and west shall be considered east and west streets. Streets lying at an angle of 45 degrees shall be considered a north and south street.

For the purpose of this subchapter and for the numbering required by this subchapter, if any blocks are longer than 1,100 feet, then for the purposes of this subchapter, 1,100 feet will be considered the maximum length of any block, and the numbering for the next property shall be considered as a separate block.

In case of the establishment, extension or vacation of any street or part of a street in the town, the numbering on a part or a whole of such street, as the case may be, shall be made or remade, if necessary, to conform to this subchapter.
