2-1-1: DEFINITIONS:
When used in this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section:
   APPOINTIVE MEMBERS: All other members of the planning and zoning commission.
   COMMISSION: The planning and zoning commission created by this chapter.
   EX OFFICIO MEMBERS: The members of the planning and zoning commission chosen from among the officials or employees of the city.
   HEARING EXAMINER: An individual appointed by the council who shall, as directed by council, perform the duties of the planning and zoning commission regarding requests on special use permits, variances, subdivision plats and annexations. (1959 Code §2-201; amd. Ord. 500, 4-9-2001)
2-1-2: CREATION OF COMMISSION:
There is hereby created an official planning and zoning commission to consist of a total of five (5) members to be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the city council. The commission may consist entirely of appointive members or of both appointive members and ex officio members. (1959 Code §2-202; amd. 1990 Code)
