The Department of Recreation shall have the duty and obligation of operating the recreational activities, functions and programs which are now or may hereafter be performed or carried on by the Municipality. Council may, from time to time, designate additional activities, functions or programs for operation by the Department, but the Department shall immediately take charge of operating and carrying on all recreational activities, functions or programs in connection with the swimming pool, baseball, including both hardball and softball, tennis, ice skating and any other activities, functions or programs which are scheduled within the parks or recreation areas owned or controlled by the Municipality.
