No new roofs shall be covered with wood shingles, but existing wood-shingled roofs may be repaired with wood shingles providing the area repaired during any period of five years does not exceed twenty-five percent of the entire area of the roof.
The Building Commissioner, in conjunction with the Chief of Fire, shall have the power to condemn and have removed any wood-shingle roof that, in their opinion, is in such a deteriorated condition as to be a fire hazard.
