There is hereby created the office of Medical Examiner. The Mayor may appoint one or more properly licensed medical doctors who shall serve on a fee basis and who shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and only upon his order.

The Medical Examiner is hereby authorized to perform the following services for the Department of Public Safety upon the direction of the officer in charge at the time.
(a) To examine and direct care and treatment of any prisoner who may become ill while in the custody of the Division of Police.
(b) Upon request of the Chief of Police, the Chief of Fire or the Director of Public Safety, to examine any person in the Department of Public Safety who is absent from duty because of sickness and to report his finding to the officer so requesting the examination.
(c) To make a full physical examination, annually, of each and every member of the Divisions of Police and Fire and to make a full report as to the physical fitness of the examined person to the Director of Public Safety and the Chief of the respective divisions. The Medical Examiner shall be compensated upon a fee basis for any of the above services so performed and shall be paid for the same out of the Incidental Account of the division requesting or using the services.

(a) There is hereby established the City of Parma West Nile D.E.E.T. Repellant Program for Seniors. The following stipulations shall apply to this program:
(1) There shall be a limit of one 6.5 ounce can annually per Parma senior citizen household at no charge.
(2) D.E.E.T. repellant shall be available for senior citizens age 65 or over, or for the medically challenged (proof required). Senior citizens and the medically challenged must be a City resident.
(3) A registration form, attached as Exhibit "A" to original Ordinance 330-02, must be completed to be eligible.
(b) Funds for the purchase of D.E.E.T. repellant shall be paid from Community Development Block Grant Funds, not to exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000) annually.
