(A) If an owner sells or transfers title to a taxicab for which a certificate has been granted and the vehicle is retired from use as a taxicab, and within 30 days after the sale or transfer, the owner purchases a replacement taxicab, the Board shall upon written application made within 30 days of the purchase, issue a new certificate for the operation of the replacement vehicle provided the owner has complied with the provisions of this chapter.
(B) The Board shall grant a certificate for a taxicab obtained to replace a destroyed taxicab if:
(1) A certificate had previously been issued for the destroyed taxicab;
(2) Written application is made to the Board within 30 days after the destruction;
(3) Satisfactory evidence is presented to the Board of the destruction; and
(4) The applicant has complied with the provisions of this chapter.
