(A) While undergoing official training and while performing duties on behalf of the Police Department, pursuant to orders or instructions of the Chief of Police, members of the Auxiliary Police Division shall be entitled to benefits under the State Workmen's Compensation Act.
(B) All members of the Auxiliary Police Division shall give eight hours per month of duty in order to maintain certification. If called upon to perform official duties beyond eight hours per month as authorized by the Chief of Police, auxiliary officers may be paid at the rate of hourly salary comparable to that of a regular police patrol person.
