§ 17-7  AUTHORIZATION TO SUMMON AID.
   If resisted in executing the law, a police officer may summon a sufficient number of persons to come to his or her assistance, as is necessary to make an arrest and enforce the law, and it shall be unlawful for any person so summoned to refuse or fail to so assist the police officer.
