(A) For the purpose of this article, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CHIEF OF THE BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION or FIRE OFFICIAL. The city's Fire Chief or his or her officers.
FIRE PREVENTION. Those services and actions undertaken to eliminate fire hazards and perils, reduce the risk of occurrence of fire and passively protect property and persons from damage and injury and reduce the extent of the same in the event of fire.
FIRE PREVENTION BUREAU. The City Fire Prevention Bureau.
PERSON. Any and all individuals, owners, tenants, businesses, associations, firms, groups, partnerships, joint ventures and corporations.
(B) Other words, phrases and terms used in this code to the extent possible, shall be given the meaning set forth in Section 202 of Volume V, Fire Prevention, of the State Building Code, as it may be from time to time amended.
