157.07 HOLIDAYS.
   (a)   Employees shall be entitled to the following holidays at regular pay:
New Year’s Day
January 1st
Martin Luther King Day
Third Monday in January
Good Friday afternoon
One-half day
Decoration Day
Last Monday in May
Independence Day
July 4th
Labor Day
First Monday in September
Thanksgiving Day
Fourth Thursday in November
President’s Day
Fourth Friday in November
(moved from the Third Monday in February)
Christmas Day
December 25th
Columbus Day
Last working day prior to the observed Christmas holiday (moved from Second Monday in October)
Veteran’s Day   
Last working day following the observed Christmas Day holiday (moved from November 11th)
   (b)   For employees working a Monday through Friday, 40-hour workweek, in the event that any of the holidays mentioned above should fall on Saturday, the Friday immediately preceding shall be observed as the holiday. In the event that any of the holidays fall on Sunday, the Monday immediately succeeding shall be observed as the holiday.
   (c)   For employees who do not work a regular Monday through Friday schedule, in the event that any of the holidays mentioned above should fall on a day when the employee is not scheduled to work, the day the holiday is observed shall be determined by the department head.
   (d)   In the event any Village employee is required to work on any of the above mentioned holidays, overtime per Section 157.08 shall apply.
   (e)   Employees who are classified as “part-time” shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half times their regular rate when required to work on any of the holidays set forth in this Section 157.07.
   (f)   Holidays specified herein shall constitute an 8-hour day and shall not be charged to an employee’s leave.
