Upon cancellation of the insurance policy, the insured shall provided 30 days notice to the Director of Public Safety. However, this provision shall not be construed to waive any lawful notice which the insurer must give to the insured. If a license is revoked for failure to maintain insurance, upon the filing of a new insurance policy, the Director of Public Safety may reinstate the license if a new insurance policy is provided within 45 days of revocation, along with payment of a twenty dollar ($20.00) reinstatement fee.
