812.03 LICENSE FEES.
   (a)   Circuses.
      (1)   The license fee for a circus, menagerie, exhibition of wild animals or any other tent show or performance whose admission charge, including reserved or special seats, is less than one dollar ($1. 00) shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each day shown.
      (2)   The license fee for a circus, menagerie, exhibition of wild animals or any other tent show or performance whose admission charge, including reserved or special seats, is more than one dollar ($1. 00) shall be one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for each day shown.

   (b)   Side Shows. The license fee for a side show, exhibition or performance, exhibiting or performing at the same time and place as a circus, menagerie or tent show where admission is charged shall be twenty-five percent of the license fees set forth in subsection (a) hereof for each day shown.

   (c)   Carnivals, Street Fairs, Etc. The license fee for a carnival, street fair or kindred attraction shall be one hundred dollars ($100. 00) per day. For any carnival, street fair or kindred attraction or amusement sponsored by any civic group or charitable organization of the City, the license fee shall be twenty-five dollars ($25. 00) for the first day and ten dollars ($10. 00) for each day thereafter.

   (d)   Theatrical and Other Performances; Exemptions; County Fairs.
      (1)   The license fee for a theatrical performance, musical concert, legerdemain performance, panorama, drama, exhibition of any painting, wax figure or statuary of any kind or of any natural curiosity, and for any exhibition or performance for gain, or any show not herein mentioned, shall be, for the first day or night shown, five dollars ($5. 00) and for each succeeding day or night, three dollars ($3. 00). However, no license or permit shall be required for any lecture on a scientific, historical or literary subject, or any musical party, concert, exhibition or fair, other than a circus, carnival or medicine show, provided that such event is given by residents of the City for benevolent or charitable purposes.
      (2)   Nothing herein shall be construed to exempt any circus, carnival or medicine show from the payment of the license fee provided by this section and no circus, carnival or medicine show shall be exempt from the payment of such license fee no matter by whom or for what purpose given.
      (3)   Nothing herein shall be construed to provide for the licensing of any legally constituted county fair or any exhibit or show given in connection with any such county fair.(1969 Code Sec. 110.24)
   (e)   Medicine Shows.
      (1)   The license fee for a medicine show, patent medicine show or any show, concert, legerdemain performance, panorama, cinematograph or moving or talking picture where medicine or purported medicines or remedies are to be sold, exhibited or advertised in connection therewith, whether or not admission is charged and whether or not such medicines or remedies are for sale or otherwise, shall be twenty--five dollars ($25. 00) for each day shown. Such license fee shall also be paid by any person who talks or lectures upon or sponsors or promotes talks or lectures upon medicines, remedies or patent medicines, inside or outside of any building, tent or structure within the City.
      (2)   Nothing herein shall apply to any such shows or demonstrations held in the windows of stores of resident merchants in the City.
