254.28 EMPLOYEES SIXTY-FIVE YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER; PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS.
All regular hourly and salaried employees shall, upon reaching sixty-five years of age, submit on a yearly basis to a physical examination for the purpose of determining their ability to continue work in their then current work assignment. Such examination shall be made at the expense of the City and shall be made by a physician designated by the City. A report of such examination shall be made in such manner and on such forms as the City may, from time to time, prescribe. All reports shall be filed with the Civil Service Commission and placed in the employee's file. Should an examination reveal that an employee is physically unfit to continue in his position, such fact shall be certified to the appropriate appointing authority, who shall immediately act in accordance with the law to protect the best interests of the employee and the City.
