(a) Every employee hired by the City shall, prior to being so hired, have a physical examination and any Municipal employee who is injured or who claims to have been injured shall, upon order of the Director of Public Safety, have a physical examination.
(b) The Director is hereby authorized and directed to select and employ qualified physicians to conduct the physical examinations required by subsection (a) hereof.
(c) All reports of such physical examinations are to be made in such manner and upon such forms as the Director may from time to time prescribe.
(d) The City shall pay for all pre-employment physical examinations and such other physical examinations as the Director orders.
(e) The provisions of this section shall not apply to elected officials or to heads of departments.
