1-7A-2: DEPUTY CITY CLERK:
   A.   Office Created: There is created and established in the city an office to be generally known and designated as deputy city clerk.
   B.   Duties: The duties of said deputy city clerk shall be such as may from time to time be assigned by the city clerk, and in the absence of the city clerk or inability to perform the duties of his office, said deputy city clerk shall temporarily perform the duties of city clerk. (1990 Code)

1-7C-1: APPOINTMENT:
Appointment of a city attorney shall be accomplished as provided in section 1-5-6 of this title. His appointment shall continue until he is removed from office as provided in section 1-5-7 of this title. (Ord. 1627, 12-22-2014)
1-7C-2: SUITS AND ACTIONS:
The city attorney may represent the city in all suits or proceedings in which the city is interested. (Ord. 1627, 12-22-2014)
1-7C-3: DUTIES:
The city attorney shall perform such duties as are prescribed by ordinance of the council and/or by state law, together with the following:
   A.   It shall be the duty of the attorney to see to the full enforcement of all judgments or decrees rendered or entered in favor of the city, and of all similar interlocutory orders.
   B.   He shall draft or supervise the phraseology of any contract, lease or other document or instrument to which the city may be a party and, upon request of the council, shall draft ordinances covering any subjects within the power of the city.
   C.   He shall attend all meetings of the council unless excused by the mayor and in absence of the mayor may be excused by the council president.
   D.   He shall submit legal opinions when requested to do so by the mayor and/or council to any city official or employee.
   E.   He shall perform any further service, civil or criminal, required by statute or ordinance of the city. (Ord. 1627, 12-22-2014)
