6.04.170: ADOPTION OF ANIMALS FROM POUND:
   A.   The animal control officer may offer apparently healthy impounded dogs and cats for adoption at his discretion at the end of the claiming period, upon the following conditions:
      1.   Payment of the adoption fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per dog or cat;
      2.   Presentment of a valid rabies tag, valid dog license and evidence of neutering shall be made to the animal control officer within thirty (30) days after the adoption of the animal.
   B.   In the event that the conditions of this section are not complied with in the required time, the animal control officer may, at his discretion, revoke ownership of such animal, and remove the animal from the premises of adoption and impound the animal.
   C.   The animal control officer will advise the board of county commissioners of any recommendation against adoption. (MC Ord. 102A § 2, 1986)
