The manager may designate by letter filed with the Council, any official of the municipality to perform his/her duties as temporary manager during his/her temporary absence or disability. In the event that such a designation has not been made or is disapproved by Council, or the position of manager is vacant for any reason, the Council may, by resolution, appoint a suitable person to act as temporary manager and to perform the duties of the manager until he/she shall return or his/her disability ceases, or until a manager be appointed by Council, and Council may provide compensation for any temporary manager.
