§ 32.01 CITY CLERK AND CITY TREASURER.
   (A)   Pursuant to authority granted by M.S. § 412.581, as it may be amended from time to time, separate offices of City Clerk and City Treasurer are hereby established. The duties of each office shall be as provided by law.
   (B)   The Clerk, with the consent of the Council, may appoint and remove a Deputy Clerk to perform the duties of the Clerk under the supervision of the Clerk. The Treasurer, with the consent of the Council, may appoint and remove a Deputy Treasurer to perform the duties of the Treasurer under the supervision of the Treasurer.
   (C)   The combined office of the Clerk-Treasurer is abolished.

§ 32.02 ANNUAL AUDIT.
   There shall be an annual audit of the city’s financial affairs by the state auditor or a public accountant in accordance with minimum auditing procedures prescribed by the state auditor.

§ 32.03 BONDS MAY BE REQUIRED.
   (A)   The Council may require any officer or employee to furnish a bond conditioned upon the faithful exercise of the duties of the officer or employee and the proper application of, in payment upon demand of, all monies officially received by the officer or employee. Unless otherwise prescribed by law, the amount of bond may be fixed by the Council. The bonds furnished by the Clerk shall be corporate surety bonds.

   (B)   The Council may require that the officer or employee pay the bond premium, or it may, by any appropriate means, provide for the payment from city funds of the premium on the official bond of any officer or employee of the city.
