In accordance with M.S. Chapter 412, as it may be amended from time to time, the city shall be governed under the plan of government known as “Optional Plan A.” As provided by statute, the city shall be governed by the Council composed of the Mayor and four Council members.

A regular city election shall be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November in every even-numbered year. Two Council members shall be elected for four-year terms at each election. The Mayor shall be elected for a two-year term at each election.
