It is a violation of this section for the owner or operator of a vehicle to which a notice of fine has been issued to knowingly fail to admit or deny the parking violation as provided in this chapter within thirty (30) days of the date of the violation. A knowing failure or refusal to admit or deny a parking violation charged by notice of fine may be inferred whenever a written notice of failure to appear or admit one (1) or more notices of fine has been sent by ordinary mail to the address of the registered owner of the vehicle as shown by the vehicle registration, and the owner or driver has not responded within ten (10) days, and the notice has not been returned as being undeliverable.
Unpaid parking notices of fine will be forwarded to the Cerro Gordo County Treasurer's Office for collection. Failure to admit or deny a notice of fine may prohibit the registered owner from renewing his or her vehicle registration until the notice of fine is resolved. (Ord. 12-17, 12-18-2012)
