The owner or operator of a vehicle alleged to be parked in violation of this chapter shall admit or deny the violation within thirty (30) days of the date of the notice of fine. A parking violation may be admitted by depositing the correct amount of the fine together with the notice of fine and mailing or by delivery of the payment to the Office of the City Clerk or to the Parking Enforcement Bureau at the Mason City Police Department. A parking violation may be denied by appearing in person at the Office of the City Clerk or at the Parking Enforcement Bureau at the Mason City Police Department. If a parking violation is neither admitted by payment of the specified fine nor denied by appearance at the Office of the City Clerk or at the Parking Enforcement Bureau of the Mason City Police Department within thirty (30) days of issuance, the violation may be charged by uniform citation in accordance with the laws of Iowa.
