The application for a permit for erection of a sign or other advertising structure in which electrical wiring and connections are to be used shall be submitted to the building inspector. The building inspector shall examine the plans and specifications respecting all wiring and connections to determine if the same complies with Chapter 15.08 of this code and he shall approve such permit if such plans and specifications comply with Chapter 15.08 or disapprove the application if noncompliance with such chapter is found. Such action of the building inspector shall be taken prior to submission of the application to the building inspector for final approval or disapproval of the erection permit. (Prior code § 21-1-5)
