It shall be unlawful for any person to tamper with, break into or in any manner damage a coin-operated vending machine, coin-operated telephone or any other coin-operated equipment with the intent to steal therefrom coins or merchandise. Any person found guilty of violating this section shall be liable to a fine of not less than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00), or imprisonment in jail for not less than thirty (30) days nor more than twelve (12) months, or both so fined and imprisoned.
