The Transit Authority of the City of Lexington and the County of Fayette shall continue in full force and effect after the effective date of this Charter as the Transit Authority of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government. Said authority shall retain all the power and authority vested therein by ordinance and resolution of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Lexington and the Fayette County Fiscal Court on the effective date of this Charter, and shall continue to be responsible for fulfilling the mass transportation needs of the citizens of the Merged Government.
All vacancies on said authority occurring after the effective date of this Charter shall be filled by the Mayor in accordance with the provisions of Section 7.02 of this Charter.
