Sec. 5-96. - Contractor review board; membership; rules.
(a)   A contractor review board, which shall also be referred to as the review board, is hereby created. The review board shall be composed of seven (7) members appointed by the mayor and approved by the council, and shall consist of one (1) registered commercial contractor, one (1) architect or engineer, one (1) registered builder member of the Home Builders Association of Lexington, Inc., one (1) representative of the Lexington Better Business Bureau of Central and Eastern Kentucky or similar organization, one (1) registered member of a subcontracting trade, one (1) registered member of the remodeling trade, and one (1) Lexington-Fayette County homeowner. At least one (1) of these members shall be a member of the Home Builders Association of Lexington, Inc. at the time of appointment.
(b)   The terms of members shall be four (4) years from the date of appointment, provided the terms be staggered in the manner required by section 7.02 of the Urban County Charter. No member shall serve more than two (2) consecutive terms. Vacancies shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointment, and the successor shall be appointed for the unexpired term. Discontinued membership in the Home Builders Association of Lexington, Inc. shall terminate the review board membership for the member appointed in this representative capacity. A majority of the members of the review board shall constitute a quorum. The review board may appoint a secretary for itself, adopt its own rules of procedure, and shall keep a record of its proceedings and transactions. The members of the review board shall serve without salary.
