The plant closing committee shall consist of six (6) ex officio members consisting of the mayor or his designee; the council member in whose district the plant closing or layoff occurs; the executive director of the Urban League; the president of the Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce; the executive director of the mayor's training center; and the director of economic development; and five (5) members appointed by the mayor, subject to confirmation by a majority of the council members as outlined in section 7.02 of the Urban County Charter, consisting of:
(1) A representative from the department of law;
(2) One (1) at-large council member;
(3) One (1) council member indicating an interest in serving on the committee; and
(4) Two (2) members selected from the community, one (1) of which shall be a minority representative.
