1366.02 REGISTRATION.
   (a)   Prior to leasing residential property, the owner shall first register said property with the City Building Department on forms approved by the Building Official that shall contain the following:
      (1)   The name, mailing address, telephone number and email address of the owner;
      (2)   The name, telephone number and email address of the person(s) legally responsible for the lease and who reside within the residential dwelling;
      (3)   Acknowledgement by the owner and the person identified in Section 1366.02(a)(2) that properly installed and operating photoelectronic smoke alarms are installed within each separate sleeping area, a photoelectric smoke alarm installed on each additional floor level of the dwelling, and a properly installed and operating carbon monoxide detector on each floor level containing a sleeping area.
   (b)   A new rental registration shall be submitted by the owner within fifteen (15) days of (i) entering into a new lease for the residential property, or (ii) the recording of a deed with the County Recorder transferring ownership of the property from the owner to a new owner not identified on the rental registration. Failure to timely register shall constitute a violation of this chapter. (Ord. 2016-80. Passed 12-13-16.)
