This chapter is intended to provide standards for the erection, design and placement of all signs and sign structures not located within a building. Design standards are established by this chapter in order to achieve the proper relationship of signs to their environment, enhance the outward appearance of the community as a whole, secure pedestrian and vehicular safety and preserve the historic aspects of the city.
