All orders for discontinuing water service must be made in writing to the water department and must be done in conjunction with termination of sewer service as described in section 7-2-6 of this title. The owner may elect to continue paying at the unoccupied rate set by resolution and subject to modification from time to time. If the owner elects to cease paying the monthly fee, the city council will issue an order terminating service. The order shall advise that the property is not served by city utilities. Said order shall be filed with the county recorder to provide notice to any individual considering the purchase of said property. The capitalization fee, in effect at the time of reconnection, must be paid before service will be reinstated. (Ord. 431, 3-3-2009)
