§ 72.999 PENALTY.
   (A)   Parking on public lots. Any person who violates any provision of §§ 72.001 through 72.003 shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed $500, or imprisonment not to exceed 90 days or by both a fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court.

   (B)   Prohibited parking. Any person who shall violate or fail to comply with any of the provisions of § 72.005 shall be punishable by a municipal civil infraction.
   (C)   Impoundment. Any person violating any of the provisions of §§ 72.015 and 72.016 shall upon conviction thereof be subject to a find of not more than $500 or to imprisonment for a period of not more than 90 days or to both a fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court.

   (D)   Parking of boat or trailer on residential streets. Any provision of §§ 72.030 through 72.032 which describes an act or omission which constitutes a civil infraction under the terms of the Michigan Vehicle Code, being Public Act 300 of 1949, being M.C.L.A. §§ 257.1 through 257.923, as amended, shall be processed as a civil infraction and any person found to have committed a civil infraction may be ordered to pay a civil fine of not more than $500 and costs.

   (E)   Parking meters. Any person who shall violate or fail to comply with any of the provisions of §§ 72.045 through 72.051, or 72.054 through 72.058, or the regulations promulgated by the Council in connection therewith, who shall counsel, aid or abet any violation or failure to comply, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not to exceed $500, or imprisonment for not to exceed 90 days, by both a fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court.

   (F)   Operation and time limits. Any person who shall violate or fail to comply with any of the provisions of §§ 72.052 and 72.053 shall be punishable by a municipal civil infraction with a fine set by City Council annually.
   (G)   Permitted parking areas. Any person convicted of violating any of the provisions of §§ 72.070 through 72.079 shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $500 or imprisonment not to exceed 90 days, or by both a fine and imprisonment.

   (H)   Parking on private premises. Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of §§ 72.090 and 72.091 shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine not to exceed $500 or imprisonment not to exceed 90 days, or both a fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court.
