§ 27-17 SOUNDING WHISTLE.
   (a)   No railroad shall cause or allow the whistle of any locomotive engine to be sounded within the village except necessary signals for brakes and crossings and such as may be absolutely necessary to prevent injury to persons and to property; except, that locomotives operating through the village shall sound warning signals between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.

   (b)   Notwithstanding the restriction contained in § 27-17A of this code, commencing on September 1, 2005, no railroad shall cause or allow the whistle of any locomotive engine to be sounded within the village at any time of the day, except necessary signals for brakes and crossing and such as may be absolutely necessary to prevent injury to persons and to property.
