Adoption of Code
Ordinance No. 65-6-1431
   An ordinance adopting a revision and codification of the ordinances of the Village of Glencoe, Cook County, Illinois, providing for the repeal of ordinances not included therein, with certain exceptions, and for other purposes hereinafter set out.
   BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF GLENCOE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
Section 1:   That the ordinances of the Village of Glencoe, Illinois of a general and permanent nature as revised and codified in the following chapters, namely, Chapters 1 to 37, both inclusive, are hereby ordained as general ordinances of the Village of Glencoe, Illinois, as authorized by Illinois Revised Statutes 1963, Chapter 24, paragraph 1-2-3, and are adopted as, and shall constitute "The code of the Village of Glencoe, Illinois, 1965."
Section 2:   That the provisions of such Code shall be in force on and after the 13th day of September, 1965, and all ordinances of a general and permanent nature in force on the first day of July, 1965, and not contained in such Code are hereby repealed, effective on the 13th day of September, 1965, except as hereinafter provided.
Section 3:   That the repeal provided for in the preceding section of this ordinance shall not affect any offense or act committed or done or any penalty or forfeiture incurred or any contract or right established or occurring before the 13th day of September, 1965; nor shall such repeal affect any ordinance or resolution promising or guaranteeing the payment of money for the Village or authorizing the issue of any bonds of the Village or any evidence of the Village's indebtedness, or any contract or obligation assumed by the Village; nor shall such repeal affect the administrative ordinances or resolutions of the Village Board of Trustees not in conflict or inconsistent with the provisions of such Code; nor shall it affect the annual appropriation ordinance; nor shall it affect any ordinances levying or imposing taxes; nor shall it affect any ordinances relative to the salaries and wages of the Village officers and employees; nor shall it affect any right or franchise conferred by ordinance or resolution of the Village on any person or corporation; nor shall it affect the Zoning Ordinance of the Village or any amendment thereto; nor shall it affect any ordinances vacating any streets or alleys; nor shall it affect any ordinance creating a Board of Local Improvements nor any ordinance relating to special assessments, local improvements or other improvements; nor shall it affect any ordinances designating depositories for money or securities belonging to the Village; nor shall it affect any prosecution, suit or proceeding pending or any judgment rendered on or prior to September 12, 1965; nor shall it affect any ordinance passed on or after July 1, 1965.
Section 4:   That this ordinance shall take affect and be in full force and effect ten days after its passage, approval, posting, and publication in book form according to law.
