It shall be unlawful for any person to falsely represent himself or herself to be a member of the police department of the village or maliciously or with intent to deceive, use or imitate any of the signs or signals of the police department, or to wear the uniform accepted as the police uniform. It shall be unlawful for any person to use or wear a badge or other similar device like that of a police officer except as otherwise provided by ordinance.
