§ 23-112 PRE-TOW NOTICE FOR ABANDONED VEHICLES.
   (a)   Not less than seven days prior to towing any abandoned vehicle pursuant to § 23-111(a) hereof, the village shall forward written notice of its intent to tow by certified or registered mail, return receipt requested, to the address of the owner of the vehicle as indicated in the most current registration list of the Secretary of State of the state in which such vehicle is registered. The notice shall be in the form provided in § 23-112(b) of this article.
   (b)   The following form shall be utilized for the purposes of giving pre-tow notice to owners pursuant to § 23-112(a) of this article:

THE VILLAGE OF GLENCOE WILL TOW THE VEHICLE OR CAUSE IT TO BE TOWED AFTER 7 DAYS FROM THE ABOVE DATE OF MAILING UNLESS YOU MOVE THE VEHICLE TO A LAWFUL LOCATION OR REQUEST A HEARING AS SET FORTH BELOW. IF THE VEHICLE IS TOWED, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY ALL TOWING AND STORING CHARGES BEFORE THE VEHICLE IS RELEASED.
FAILURE TO CLAIM THE TOWED VEHICLE WILL RESULT IN ITS SALE AT PUBLIC AUCTION PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE GLENCOE VILLAGE CODE.
THIS TOWING IS AUTHORIZED BY SECTION 23-93.3 (strike if inapplicable) AND ARTICLE IX OF CHAPTER 23 OF THE GLENCOE VILLAGE CODE, COPIES OF WHICH ARE ATTACHED.
IF YOU WISH TO REQUEST A HEARING ON THE LEGALITY OF THE PRESENT LOCATION AND CONDITION OF YOUR VEHICLE, YOU MUST CONTACT THE GLENCOE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, 675 VILLAGE COURT, GLENCOE, ILLINOIS 60022 (312) 835-4111, AND FILE A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR SUCH HEARING WITHIN 7 DAYS OF THE ABOVE DATE OR MAILING.

   (c)   On or before the day of mailing of the aforesaid written notice, a notice of intent to tow sticker with the earliest date upon which the tow may take place and the address and phone number of the department of public safety shall be placed on the vehicle.
