(a) The connection of the building sewer into a public sewer shall conform to the requirements of this article, the building and plumbing code, and other applicable rules and regulations of the village. All such connections shall be made gas tight and water tight. Any deviation from the prescribed procedures and materials must be approved by the director of public works before connection.
(b) No person shall connect roof down spouts, exterior foundation drains, yard or patio area drains or other sources of surface run-off or ground water to a building sewer or building drain if the sewer or building drain is connected directly or indirectly to a public sanitary sewer.
