§ 6-1 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this article, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section.
   ACCESSORY ANIMAL. A certain class of animal that is uncommon in residential areas and that, if kept improperly, would be detrimental to the public health, safety, comfort, convenience, and general welfare.
   ANIMAL. A living creature, domestic or wild, but does not include humans.
   AT LARGE. An animal which is off the premises of the owner and which is neither in an enclosed motor vehicle nor, while on a leash, under the immediate control of a responsible person.
   ATTACK. When an animal, without provocation, makes actual physical contact with another animal or person that includes, but is not limited to, biting, scratching or clawing.
   DOG. Both male and female dogs.
   LEASH. A leash, cord, chain or similar device.
   OWNER. Any person owning, keeping or harboring an animal.
