In addition to the agreement for indemnification contained in the application for a permit, the village manager may in his or her discretion require the applicant to furnish a bond in order to protect adequately the interests of the village and its residents. The terms and amount of any such bond shall be determined by the village manager in the exercise of his or her sound discretion.
