   1371.01 SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS.
   (a)   A constant and dependable supply of water, of quality suitable for drinking purposes, shall be provided or developed for the use of the occupants of every dwelling or other structure, and the daily quantity of such water constantly available shall not be less than 100 gallons for every sleeping room of a dwelling and fifty gallons for every animal to be accommodated in a stable.
   (b)   The Building Official shall not issue any building permit until he or she shall have been satisfied that the foregoing requirements have been fully complied with.

   1371.02 SOURCE OF SUPPLY.
   The source of a water supply may be from public or private mains, deep wells or springs. No water shall be used from any surface well or spring which, in the judgment of the Building Official, is exposed to contamination, except for purposes of irrigation. Every deep well shall be cased or enclosed in such a way as to exclude surface water or water from strata near the surface exposed to contamination.

   1371.03 INSPECTIONS; AUTHORITY OF BUILDING OFFICIAL RE CONTAMINATED SUPPLY.
   The Building Official shall have the power to examine or cause to be examined the condition of any water supply at any time. Whenever such supply is found unfit for drinking purposes, he or she may direct and enforce such remedial measures, or condemn and prohibit the use of such water supply, as he or she may deem necessary to protect the public health and safety.
