Any public utility, prior to doing any repair or new work in a tree lawn or which requires the breaking of a sidewalk, shall take a photograph of the area in which such work is to be done and submit the same to the Division of Building, Engineering and Inspection. In lieu of a photograph, a public utility may make a sidewalk survey of the sidewalk abutting the area where work shall be done, provided that an inspector of the City shall verify such survey and provided further, such survey is made within fourteen days of commencement of construction. A copy of such survey signed by a representative of the utility and the City Inspector shall be filed with the Division.
Within thirty days immediately following completion of construction, the utility shall again make a survey of the subject construction area and shall file a copy of such survey with the initial survey made, noting thereon any damage to sidewalk caused by construction. Damage shall be repaired as soon as weather permits thereafter.
