No contractor or person who contracts for services herein described shall hereafter follow, engage in or work at a trade or occupation of plumber, excavator, electrician, pipe fitter, plasterer, cement contractor, mason contractor, furnace installer, boiler maker, bricklayer, carpenter, composition roofer, lather, painter, termite control operator, exterminator, sewer builder, radon gas detector, radon gas correction installer or similar trade, in the City unless he has first obtained registration in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. A separate registration shall be required for cement and asphalt contractors who engage in the installation, construction and repair of cement or asphalt work in the streets, including sidewalks and driveway aprons.
