(a) All employees in the City service except members of the Police and Fire Divisions, school guards and part-time employees shall not continue their employment after attaining their sixty-fifth birthday.
(b) All employees affected in subsection (a) hereof upon reaching the age of sixty- five years, at the request of their department head and the approval of the Mayor, may extend their employment for one year.
