§ 8-51  APPLICABILITY OF PROVISIONS TO RELIGIOUS, CHARITABLE AND LIKE ORGANIZATIONS.
The provisions of § 8-47 relative to license fees shall not apply to any activity mentioned in § 8-45 hereof, the proceeds from which are to be applied for any religious, charitable, or benevolent purpose as evidenced by application to and approval by the Tag Day Committee. Failure to secure approval of the Tag Day Committee may be cause for denial of the waiver of the fees required herein. The City Council shall, before such license is issued, determine whether or not proceeds from any of the activities mentioned in § 8-45 are to be applied for religious, charitable or benevolent purposes. Nothing contained herein shall operate to exempt any person or religious, charitable or benevolent organization from securing a license or the provisions of § 8-50.
