Permits and Fees
Editor's note: Structural inspections of nonindustrialized one, two and three-family dwelling construction and alteration are made by the Building Commissioner / Zoning Inspector of the City. Plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating and other inspections, as determined by the Building Commissioner / Zoning Inspector of the City, are made by the County Building Department, pursuant to contract with the City. Permits are issued accordingly. Copies of the latest relevant legislation may be obtained from the Clerk of Council.

1444.01    PERMIT APPLICATION AND ISSUANCE.
   (a)   There shall be submitted with all applications for building permits two (2) copies of a layout or plot plan drawn to scale showing the actual dimensions of the lot to be built upon, the exact size and location on the lot of the building and accessory buildings to be erected, added to or altered, existing and proposed topography and such other information as may be necessary to determine and provide for the enforcement of this Building and Housing Code and the Zoning Code.
   (b)   One (1) copy of such layout or plot plan shall be returned when approved by the Building Commissioner/Zoning Inspector, together with the permit, to the applicant upon payment of the fee provided in Section 1238.08.
   (c)   No building permit shall be issued for any building the construction, addition to or alteration of which would be in violation of any of the provisions of this Building and Housing Code or the Zoning Code, except upon written order of the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals.

1444.99   PENALTY.
   Whoever violates any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree and shall be fined not more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) or imprisoned not more than thirty (30) days. A separate offense shall be deemed committed each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
