Any person, firm, association or corporation who shall engage in any business, profession, trade or occupation, or exercise any privilege for which a license is required by this title without a valid license as thereby required, or who shall violate any provision of this title by doing any act prohibited or declared to be unlawful thereby, or declared to be an offense or misdemeanor thereby, or who shall fail to do any act when such provision declares such failure to be unlawful or to be an offense or misdemeanor, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor; and, upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to penalty as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code.
